Are you ready for a new look for the site?

This version of vBulletin is approaching it's End Of Life cycle.
I'd like to move to a brand new forum software package that is currently under development.
It is not open to posting and far from being ready.

looks alright, the software doesn't seem much different from vBulletin so that should ease the transition for our less computer savvy member

I like it. Will there still be a "Quick links" drop down menu with "Todays Posts" and "Who's online" links? Those are the two features I use the most. In fact I keep a "Today's Posts" shortcut on my desktop:wink:

We went through the same thing at NCC's forum - some will be resistant to change. If it's easier for you, it's fine with me!

There is a lot that it still needs.
It seems to load faster. It's only in beta2. I wouldn't use it here until it was considered stable. And then there will be lots of mods available.

The thing I'm concerned about using vBulletin is when someone figures how to exploit the latest version I will need to update it to v4. I really don't like v4 and feel the new owners are destroying the software.
I think everyone knows I care more about this forum than just about anything else.
This new software has real promise.

My first impression of the Xenforo product is good. I have poked around the new bavforum site some and it seems decent. From a users standpoint it is clean. I assume that the management side of the product is stronger (or at least comparable?)

(I am currently providing support for a hospitality software company that is upgrading their product dramatically... I had used their product in the field for a decade or more, and some people can be resistant to change.)

Only downside I see is that vbulletin is so commonly used, there is no learning curve for new members...

v3 but not v4. Some sites won't switch because they are heavily modified.

I won't make any rash decisions. ;)

Steven, I'm sure its been said before, but thank you for starting up/keeping this site going, it's easily the best resource to of info for our TI's:cool:

I just kind of wandered real quick, but it seems pretty similar. As long as there's a new posts type quick link, the change is no problem to me. Whatever's easier for you IMO.

As a lame duck site supporter (no ti!) I like the clean look but would change the appearance a little. I think the more you look like a BMW ad and less like Skype or facebook (to be simplistic) is the way to go. But that's just the designer in me carping.

That you even care after all these years is amazing. Thanks for the site!

I'm messing with the new site again.
I like that it can have a wiki where anyone designated can contribute and correct.

There is no built in gallery but I'm hopeful that the current gallery will integrate with the new forum. And if the gallery works then I may add a dedicated classifieds section.

I think once this software is deemed stable that many developers will be creating addons. That is if vBulletin looses their law suit.

Look pretty decent! No matter how it look thought it's still gonna be the best info source for TI owners

I hope it continues that way for a long time. :)
