Radiator cooling fan question
 

Is the radiator electric cooling fan supposed to run when the a/c compressor clutch is engaged and compressor is running?

The reason I asked is, I hooked up the gauges on the high side and the pressure is rising until it hits 250 psi and the electric fan starts running while the engine was idling. This is the reason why my a/c sucks at idle.
My condenser high side pressure is too high until the fan starts running and it starts cooling. Then it quits cooling when the cooling fan shuts off and the cycle repeats. I need to find a way to keep the fan running while the a/c compressor clutch is engaged.

As I do not have a lot of time to fool with this issue, I may end up just running a toggle switch to the fan low speed relay coil terminal 85.
I really need to keep the fan running in low speed in traffic since the high speed kicks in when the a/c high side pressure rises >250 psi.
This will keep me cool in stop/go traffic.

I ended up adding a relay to provide a ground path to the radiator low temp switch. The relay is getting energized by the AC relay at terminal 87. I used the normally open contact and wired it to the low speed radiator temp sensor and ground.
Now my radiator fan runs when the AC is on. My AC high side pressure now stays at 180 psi and low side at 34 psi. My AC cools now even in stop and go traffic.

It's supposed to run whenever the AC is on...
