Emergency Lights Intermitantly Start to Flash
 

My 1997 318 ti has a problem where the hazard lights will intermitantly turn on while driving. If I push the hazard button they will go back off. It is a very random event that I cannot correlate with anything such as bumps, or turning anything else on or off. I have tried disconnecting the hazard switch, but this does nothing (probably because there is a relay further down). Has anyone else experienced this problem and figured out how to fix it? Two mechnaics have spent time and money and come up epty handed. Very annoying.

Hate to ask the obvious, has the switch been replaced?

Mine has gotten dirt in it and done that.... I just vacumed it out...

I did replace the switch on the median and also disconnected it. Even disconnected they would still go off.
