Have A Photo Of A Complete Jack/Tool Set?

To make a long story short, I had a minor wheel issue that required jacking my recently-acquired 318ti. Now, I can't figure out exactly where everything goes and how it fits together.

Since I'm already ordering some other parts from Tischer, I figured I'd complete my toolset. It looks like I'm missing the towing hinge, screwdriver, pin, and "support lifting platform" (whatever that is). It looks it's $10.74, but is this "support lifting platform"?

Thanks!

Greg

That is what the spare tire sits on to hold it to the bottom of the car.

Wouldn't that be "13 SUPPORT FOR EMERGENCY WHEEL 51718146610 $57.78"?

err..umm.. yeah.. :) Not sure what happened there, but i read your post, looked at the realoem thing and thought you were talking about 13 for some reason.. Sorry about that..

#11 is the little pad that goes on the bottom of the jack mount points. If you have them still, they are on the car. Not something that is part of the tool kit in the rear..

OK, I was wondering about that. Is this something I should have? I think mine are missing, so I'd need four?

Each pad is located just below the jacking points.
When they are missing you sometimes will hear a whistling in the cabin.
Also it makes it easier to use a floor jack or when the car is on a lift.

Some people have modified E46 pads because they fit better when using jack stands. You also may want to consider using somekind of silicon to prevent them from getting loose again.

I'm always missing at least one.

My ti is getting a state inspection performed right now, so I can't check, but I think it is missing all four, so I ordered four. I bought passenger side door window weatherstripping, a new shift knob, license plate bracket, a coat hanger (the most expensive item), four hack pads, and a few tools missing from my toolkit ... only around $200 + shipping. That seems reasonable to me. New tires arrive Monday. Next on my checklist ... Euro headlights!

if your going euro lights and are not afraid of spending the extra cash go for the ZKW's.

I was looking at these: http://www.umnitza.com/headlights-pa...ons-p-311.html

With the options I chose, they end up costing $915 for a pair. Is it really worth the extra money? That's a hefty premium, but I don't want to spend $400 and end up wishing I'd spent $500 more.

thats a matter of opinion, You could always start stock ZKW's and upgrade them when you have the extra cash. Many use the knock off lights and are happy. Its a matter of budget and taste, my advice is to go to a local BMW meet and see the options in person.

I've always used a hockey puck on my jack and lined it up where the plastic jack pad should go. Works very well.

True, but here in Virginia, we don't have a state law requiring us to carry a hockey puck with us at all times.
