323Ti Hatch Battery

I posted some pics in my gallery of the battery in the hatch. I didn't have anything to measure with so I didn't remove the battery but I plan on doing that tomorrow.

Sorry no pics of the spare today. None of the tools came with the car and I thought it was just an allen wrench that fit into the crank in the back but I couldn't find one that would catch. I guess it's off to the dealership this weekend.

I am going to do that saturday...

I've been thinking about putting my battery in the back, except in that pocket on the right (circled in red)

Exactly, just with an Odyssey instead of a dynabat.

Did you make that cover? Looks really clean.

clex2 03-31-2006 05:44 AM

Yes, he cover was custom made from a piece of plastic and some cork board.

GDB, do you use your ti as your daily driver? One thing about these tiny batteries is that they don't hold a lot of juice. It'll start your car and while your car is running, the alternator/battery are fine. Jutt don't expect your car to start after sitting for a few days, which is even worse if you have any thing to drain your battery, like an alarm. It really for "racing" type applications where you don't need to rely on the battery, cuz it ain't no Die Hard. I have to put my car on a trickle if I don't drive it every few days. It's cool, it's light, but I would rather have Euro's 323ti set up. The only way we are getting that is to cut and weld in a new trunk floor pan. That's a lot of work.

I've been running the odyssey in my car for a couple months with no issues. Even had it sit for 4 days and it cranked up fine (I was actually really surprised that it did start). I know the extra cable will cut a little conductivity, but that should be negligible.

Since my rear sub-frame diff mount got torn, I finally grafted in a 323ti rear floor for the battery and did the Randy Forbes dual ear diff reinforcement.
