Project 332ti begins!!!

:biggrin::biggrin:Bought a wrecked '98 M3 coupe today. It's silver on black vader interior with 120k on the clock. Damage was to the driver's front fender/suspension, but the brakes do look salvageable. Power steering fluid dumped out when I started the car but it screamed like hell and everything else seemed in order.

It has a Rogue Engineering exhaust, B&M short shifter and a few other little goodies. The Vaders and entire interior is in excellent shape with very minimal wear on the bolsters. The armrest is clean and free of cracks, the radiator looks brand new, and the front bumper is even salvageable! It has a little crack on the bottom, but hardly noticeable and definitely repairable. Rear bumper is perfect and both mirrors are unharmed. The headliner is even in great shape.

All in all, I think I might be able to part it out for close to what I got into it and walk away with a free swap. Unfortunately it is a coupe and most of the parts won't fit the Ti, but if there's something you need, PM me and we'll see if I have it. Eventually, I'm going to strip it and list everything in a FS thread on here and bf.c, but for now, I'm going to limit shipping to smaller items and bigger items will be local pickup only. Atleast until I get setup and sort everything out. The car is getting towed to a storage unit tomorrow, where I'll be dismantling it and I'll snap a few pics for you guys. Here's a couple teasers for the time being:

BTW, the puddles under the car in the second pic are power steering fluid and yes, it's sitting on a log. Oh yeah, it has a brand new DSII spare wheel in the trunk!

Hooray, im the first to sign your page........Congrats Jess, looks like you have a ton of parts on your hands and can defiantely make back for the swap with everything thats salvagable.

tiFreak 06-09-2008 01:54 AM

if I had the money I'd buy those black vaders, but I don't, so I won't :frown: gl with the swap

If you're interested in selling those mirrors let's talk.

Sounds like a fun swap!

StealthBimmer 06-09-2008 02:03 AM

rock on jess. knew you'd get something today. just a bummer you didnt find a sedan but that coupe has a bunch of goodies. :joy: :_pelvic: :icon_clap:

thesk8nmidget 06-09-2008 02:34 AM

reselling sedan parts would have been a little more difficult so this may just work out to your benefit.

also sedan vaders wouldnt have worked as well if one of the socal guys want them

cooljess76 06-09-2008 02:47 AM

Yeah, coupe parts are much easier to push than sedan parts. I got the M3 for 3 grand, not bad considering I was getting ready to drop 2750 for a motor and tranny. This way, I have almost everything I need. I'm still going to need a auxiliary fan, a radiator cover, motor mounts and brackets, transmission mounts and bracket, maybe some power steering lines, brake lines, pads, rotors, clutch, LTW flywheel and a bunch of seals. I'm going to do a valve cover gasket, front and rear crank seals, oil pan gasket, filter housing gasket and a few other miscellaneous jobbys. Of course I'm going to need to weld up an exhaust and get my driveshaft worked over. I'm also in the market for an e30 or Z3 LSD. So, yeah I'll have my hands full for a little while. On another note, my pre-cut 35% window tint came yesterday and my rear seat will be here Tuesday. A lot of work, I also plan on doing my blue LED mod to the new cluster to make it match the rest of my interior lighting.

that is all.

Here's a couple shots of the car as it sits today. Sill need to paint the mirrors, install the front lip and lower grille, mount new tires, install matching dove leather rear seat, tint windows etc. New ball joints and tie rods are at the top of the list. I need a pre face lift nose panel as I'm converting to the older style grilles. Anyway, to hold you guys over:wink::
