Humm. fun stuff.. So was i was driving on one of the two main streets in k-town with my ac on. i noticed my Rev line wasn't where it normally is when i do 40-45. so i gently stepted on the gas and i noticed it didn't rly want to work. so i was thinking it was my idle control valve crying for me to clean it. but im kinda confused on if i turn off my ac while i was driving it would go back up to lets say 2000 RPMS. So then i went to the fam dollor and got sum clear. then went home. as i let it cool down. i started to remove sum bolts from the intake. and i noticed that sum build up is in the intake. http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/a...g/DCFN0005.jpg http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/a...g/DCFN0004.jpg http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/a...g/DCFN0009.jpg Better picture of the hose. on the right side. http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/a...g/GEDC0264.jpg And the third image is where i think the Gunk is coming from. going to get all new hoses and in the process of also checking the Transmission and changing filters. |
Replace hose that is cracked. It looks like the CCV valve hose and that will cause irratic idle if leaking. The gunk is normal and from the valve cover vent. Over years of use the oil vapor that is re-burned through the CCV valve causes dirty intake manifolds.. |
Actually, that intake looks pretty clean.... get a new CCV and hose. |
Ok. haha. my dad said he showed me before. i was just going to clean it anyway :) XDXD. Yeah diffently want to replace the hose. but im having a issue seeing where my idle control valve is. it's not on the bottom of my intake. like it shows in this picture. http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...7RemoveICV.jpg But as i looked just not sense there wasn't alot of light last night when i was doing it. i noticed that right below the intake like way below it is the Coolant line it's number 9 http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...67&hg=11&fg=35 But i guess on my car it's right on the side of my intake. and it was produced in 1996. Can anyone tell me why my ICV valve on located on the side of my intake. |
