Just saw this and thought it was kinda cool. 318ti.org even got a mention.

It lists 1994-1995 models as 8 valve, is that true? Also, the 1994-1995 and 1996-1999 as both having 140hp.

the 1.6 is an 8-valve, not sure about others.

Those would be 140 DIN hp which translates to 138 SAE hp. You'll note the author(s) also give the peak power output in kW perhaps so people can translate the numbers to the locally-used horsepower.

im not sure about the valves, i think that the horsepower was averaged though, the 96 model has 138

The 8 valve was a euro only motor.

yep M42s are 16 valve 138hp.
