316ti Race Car, M Compact Spec Figured since I used this forum a couple of times whilst building my compact I should introduce myself. I have a 316ti that I have built up to M Compact Spec and then turned into a race car. Started as this http://iforce.co.nz/i/iyd3vu3c.hc0.jpg Went like this around a track with the 316ti motor and auto Then looked like this with the S50B32 installed http://iforce.co.nz/i/kz5jacaw.44z.png http://iforce.co.nz/i/g5rau5cn.s01.png and went like this: Then looked like this with cage and race seat/harness http://iforce.co.nz/i/rcd12fdc.gok.jpg Built in lap timing on the steering wheel http://iforce.co.nz/i/wmyhqsjz.ms0.jpg Then went like this with the cage and race seat installed Now looks like this after its first race weekend http://iforce.co.nz/i/avcilypn.1xm.jpg General Specs are: E36 Comapct Body with Msport Kit and Reiger GT front lip. 100% OEM E36 M3 Brakes, Fuelling, Clutch, Intake, ECU, Motor and Gearbox. 3" Exhaust Alloy Flywheel Coilover suspension with non adjustable bilstein shocks. 3.91 LSD Z3M S54 Water Radiator (85c-95c depending on weather) E36 325tds Oil cooler (110-120c depending on weather) 17" Michelin Slicks E36 Motorsport Swaybars Bimmerworld Oil valve (Dropped temps by 20c) Weight 1240kg (Full tank) + driver Power ~270rwhp Next steps are to reduce weight and increase HP to drop the lap times down. I have a facebook page that has more history about the car - https://www.facebook.com/bmw303 |
Cool car. Thanks for sharing. |
Beautiful Ti, thanks for sharing indeed |
Awesome Car! What's next for this gorgeous Ti??? |
Its time to cut out 100kg+ of weight, get a swirl pot so I don't have to run a full tank to avoid surge(-40kg), get a tune to add some HP (+30rwhp) and add a rear wing so I can keep the rear end under control. New goal is to drop 2 seconds off the best lap time, which should see it about 2-3 seconds slower a lap than the E46 V8 GTR's and E90 GT2/4 Spec cars, plus 1-2 seconds faster than the modified E36 M3's etc. |
Very nice. Thanks for sharing Lino |
awesome build :) great to see ti's on the track |
Great stuff. Where will the 100kg be coming from? |
