Trashed my bumper

1 Attachment(s)
Hit a Canadian Geese on Sunday evening. Was going about 50mph at impact. Front bumper was mangled, had to tear it off to drive home.

Besides the bumper, one fog light, and the plastic wheel wells. Took it to the Allstate adjuster, he really hooked me up.

I got $1700.00 after subtracting my $500.00 deductible.

Question:

1. I salvaged the M3 air ducts, front mesh grill, and most of the molding. Where can I get a good quality front bumper without buying the complete package? I need a place that has them in stock. BavAuto sells the entire kit for $629.00 or just the bumper for $349.00 part# E36M3 FT BUMP. I don't need the grill.

I bought the original one on a group buy, buy I don't have the patience to wait on a group buy.

This is the quote from my local BMW dealer. Allstate will reimburse for OEM parts if you demand they do. I sent this list to the adjuster, he paid for everything, and even more, plus labor and painting.

Sucks, glad to see insurance hooked you up though.

DDM sells the exact same bumper as BavAuto's $350 one and it is on sale right now for $99. Supposed to be excellent quality.

must have been a big goose  looks like it got the nose panel too, maybe a junkyard would have a wrecked M3 that they'd let you just take the bumper skin off of?

If you wind up not needing the bumper moldings, I know someone who needs the tow hook cover part for a M3 bumper

Mine was stolen:rolleyes:

Don't know how much DDM's shipping is, but here is the same bumper again on sale from EuroDyne for $109 p/u, $175 shipped...

Good luck getting you car back in primo shape! May the good hands of Allstate take perfect care of you...

One thing to point out is I think DDM's cheapest doesn't have the detachable lip IIRC. That's one point you should look into in the DDM vs Euro. I'd bet they come from the same manufacturer though:wink:

DDM sold both kinds, the one w/o the detachable lip was always cheaper... I think their sale one now has the detachable lip... but you should double check.

I was wondering if the lip was detachable. Makes painting the bumper allot easier if it is. I will ask the question when I make the order today.

Thanks
Eric
