Ya first chance to install it. Thanks again! The Supersprint will get installed on the Slicktop once I renew the head.

Day 1: LSD, Stromung, Hawk rear pads and wheels/tires swapped. Found one of the rear tires has a blister. Lucky I have a spare of the same tire.size.

Tomorrow, fluids, sound and filters. Mount replacement tire. Extra credit will be to replace the trim panel under the wipers if there is still light.

1998 Cali:
  • Degreased and cleaned the underbody, tranny and engine
  • Tranny drain and refill with Redlne MTL
  • Replaced Tranny mounts

    http://i402.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps6ewwfs66.jpg

  • Installed the lower sport panel and chops. I had not come across this panel previously for the Sport bumper.

  • Coolant and hose check
  • Oil and Filter change. Spent an hour looking for the filter wrench. Finally ended up using oil filter pliers. I'll find a replacement for the plastic top I marred up removing.
  • Charged up the battery
  • Located a pair of Style 68s and a pair of tires to get mounted out of the parts locker.
  • Organized the Parts locker. I can find stuff now and walk in without moving a bunch of stuff.
  • Found an extinguisher and first aid kit I'll mount in the hatch are like my 97.
I'll have to do the stereo upgrade after work tomorrow.

Looking forward to L.A. drive this week for Bimmerfest. The Cali is in great shape for the drive just now. Maybe, I'll actually clean the car for the trip...

The lower sport panel is really nice, we have one of these, too, but somehow never have the time to install it under the car...

Ya, I'll need to find another for my 97 sport

Have you ever considered tearing out what I assume to be the heat shielding or sound deadening thats right above the transmission. I don't know about yours, but mine is covered in oil/grease or god knows what. And it seems to be the biggest fire hazard under the car.

Just looking at mine this weekend. It is sagging like some headliners I've seen. However, it seemed to do no harm and if it keeps my butt cooler... [emoji12]

Replaced my CD43 with an Alpine Bluetooth unit.

http://i402.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps9iz32vpo.jpg

The hands free unit works well and the Bluetooth connection to my iPhone work well and clear. The TuneIT app makes profiling and setting sound preferences easy.

The CD43 will go to the 97 Slicktop. I actually like the simple styling of the CD43. I just wanted a few more functions and never use the CD.

Plus added a little Bling to the steering wheel. [emoji41]

Adjusted my AFM for a cold high dew point...sort of a last ditch effort to avoid buying a new AFM unit.

Found not 1, not 2, not 3 but 4 shorts.

So that might have been causing some of my electrical gremlins.

Washed the TI properly today for the first time this year - got offered 3k bucks right after. Guess I should wash it more often.

  • Mounted a Fire Extinguisher and First Aid kit in the Cali.
  • Washed and scrubbed the Cali fabric and sealed it. Should be good for the season.
  • Finished up the in-car camera mount.
  • Moved sunroof cassettes over to storage clearing out the Garage.
  • Getting ready for the Bimmerfest drive.

Perhaps I should wash the car...

Replaced a rear speaker I blew out on the drive back from Bimmerfest. Mismatched rears, but they sound good enough for the quick commute back and forth to work.

Ordered a set of Infinity Reference 5.25" replacements for the 4" Fosgate and Kenwood speakers back there now.

Replaced hatch struts with the Chevy Blazer option. Way too strong for my liking, but oh well. Pretty much needs both hands to close.

Also discovered my car (7/96 build date) has a 1/97+ (according to realoem) exhaust manifold. It has an OEM-looking block off plate for the secondary air hole though, so pretty sure it's original. 96's are weird.

Placed a 10" sub in a custom fiberglass box I made into the space usually occupied by the tool kit and spare tire. Writeup coming soon hopefully.

Half way done putting new calipers on after the originals got too rusty to let go of the disk any more.

Neal, your shirt got compliments on my Bimmerfest trip.
