it's just a matter of time until every car looks like a bar of soap :(

Not impressed. When I look at it from the side it reminds me of a Mazda3 and other shots I see a Kia or something. One car that will not be on my want list.

If the report proves accurate, the only models in the 1-Series lineup to stick with RWD will most likely be the Coupe and Convertible and possibly a small four-door sedan.
aka, the US 1er models.

familytruckster 02-09-2012 10:21 PM

a US market 1 series sedan? OOH.

OK so today I was at the main BMW dealership picking up a new exterior temperature sensor for the 328is and they had some new 1ers in. Most of them don't look quite right but there was one really nice one, M-sport in a very attractive shade of dark blue that had the right wheels on... and it looked really really good... but the others... ugh. Especially in bright colours and with chrome trim. The new 3ers, on the other hand, look great.

I agree fully, The headlights are weak. It looks alright in my book. But they could do alot better.

So my local BMW dealer say they have a couple of new X1 in stock here in the US of A. Looks a whole lot like a five door new-ish 1 series. Any body seen one/driven one in person?

Please dont take offence if anyone owns a X1 cos its not ment to be, we have the X1 over here in the UK also the X3 and both of them are classed as a joke here  most people her prefer the X5 only cos its more of a real 4x4 (as such ) well its more of one than the other two

I drove one when I was in Germany last summer, its really just like driving a car, it was nothing like my mom's X5 at home. I must say though, it was a Euro Sport model with a 6 speed and a 2 liter turbo diesel pumping out 250 HP and 350Ft/Lb (I think it may have been a prototype as I drove it at the BMW Welt/Factory/Museum in some fancy demo) and I absolutely loved it.

olgit 09-10-2012 08:17 PM

Most X1 & X3's are driven over here by what you guys call Soccer Moms and doing the school runs that cant drive X5's  but want a 4x4 so they they can try and bully everyone on the road  but the ones that can drive X5's are like Kamakazie Pilots

OH P.S. Its called Football not Soccer in England & Europe :wink::biggrin: and we invented it

Crashaddict 09-13-2012 04:32 PM

Sorry bud, the name football was already taken by a vastly more entertaining sport in the states, you can call it what you like, but, as the metric system will tell you, we are stubborn.....it should be called handegg...or battleball lol
