what a promising letter....get your refund and run... i think my favorite part was when he rambled on about business, armed forces, and girlfriends... Quote:

"I definitely don't want to see you make this mistake with a larger, less forgiving company, as you seem like a reasonable person." That really gets me. Is he admitting that they are a larger, less forgiving company? They certainly aren't a MORE forgiving company. Quote:

He wants to fly the Product Manager of the kit to you to install it? I'm sorry but isn't this the same Product Manager that was reprimanded and shipped you an unsatisfactory product? Don't do it. lol he says Quote:

Does he know that free speech doesn't apply here? Our gracious site administrator, moderators, and Site Supporters give us the opportunity to post here. He could open himself up for a whole world of hurt if he starts posting here. Just my two cents. |
L8, just get your money back and run as far away as possible from them! I checked their address with UPS and the freaking company address is an apartment! I bet they did their welding from the stove and baked it in the oven, microwaved it for 2 minutes and Voila! We have a supercharger! |

oh yeah ... that was one other thing i forgot to mention. the returns policy should be CLEARLY STATED BEFORE YOU BUY THE PRODUCT, not listed on the packing slip once you receive it. again, that is not acceptable and i'm sure any reasonable person (let alone a court) would not call that a valid returns policy. if it ain't clearly posted, it isn't valid. |
Their website is a joke, all of their products say "usually in stock" As we all know this can't be the case. If he stocked every part that he listed he would have all of his assets tied up in parts that may or may not sell. I love this.... it is taken directly off the site describing the superchargers for the 318's and z3's "Through careful research, design, and testing, KO Performance has designed a BMW Z3 and 318 Superchager Kit capable of producing over 200+ HP in the car you already love to hate, but would love to love. Our goals in development were to create a BMW Z3, and 318 supercharger kit that would provide a sizeable amount of horsepower gains, using safe boost levels, paying special attention to heat issues, while maintaining affordability and allowing for street, or track applications. We are proud to say, we have met that goal. In addition, KO Performance is pleased to meet the specific needs of this market segment with the most competitively priced kit on the market." How the hell is $3200 competitive for this supercharger kit, when you can get a DASC that is proven for the same price if not cheaper. |
Understeer.com is a company I trust. UUC is a parts shop I trust. both have worked with me in the past, and i can say no wrong on quality of service. KO is nothing but a sham. Got to Bimmer, when you get your money and offer them an exclusive..then go to BF.com and post this **** everywhere. You got ****ed, KO knows it, You know L8, I know it...I almost got one of there systems, til it jumped 500 for a late model M42. |
I just remembered this.... KO sent me an email a while back when they first announced the kit. He wanted to know ALL about my water/alcohol injection setup so they could package it with their kits, probably stage 2 or 3. I told him what kit I was using, but nothing more. I'm not going to let someone else make a profit off of MY design. If these guys can't even design their own injection setup, I can't believe they can design an entire supercharger kit! I like the idea of a Bimmer exclusive. We owe it to the rest of the BMW community to blow this up. Part of being a good CEO is hiring high quality competent employees to represent your company. They failed at this. Now they can pay the price. It's one of the risks you take as a small business owner. Sucks to be them. |
John @ Ko said he was going to post a reply to this site in regard to this supercharger. I think he actually believes he can pursuade some us to reconsider buying the product. What I found amusing was this "reprimand" he gave to the one responsible. He told me on the phone that Joe, who I assume was the one reprimanded, was his best mechanic. Does he expect me to believe he would let him go? He tells us he was reprimanded; he will tell Joe that he said he reprimanded him to cover his ass. Quote:

just thinking...you could probably take the KO Supercharger out of your 'Coming Soon' on your signature... i am mr. rob, the outdated signature catcher! |
Damn! You beat me to it!!! Quote:

So I would wait a week for the check to arrive, if it arrives, then pray for a week it clears. No dice, he can credit my Amex card. Quote:

The constant reinforcement that you should insure it for $3500 makes me wonder if that package is going to meet an unfortunate shipping accident. |
