Hello -

My 318i had a bad fuel smell whole day until I found out a leak on the fuel valve stem on the rail. I don' know what it is called, but look like a valve stem on the tire(picture attached). when I pushed it with a screwdriver bit, the leaking has stopped. But I am wondering what it is and will it cause leak again while I drive to work tomorrow........ Thaks for any input

I wonder if you can tighten it the same way as a tire valve?

It is a pressure release valve. Some cars have it so that you can reduce the pressure on the fuel system without pulling the fuel pump relay and cranking the car a few times to clear the pressure. It will probably start leaking again once there is pressure back in the system. Safest thing to do would be to replace that part and have the fuel system inspected.

I drove to work this morning and so far no leaks. Hopefully it was just a one off.....
